BACKGROUND I <br /> The site is located in.a topographically flat area of Stockton; California (Figure-1), approximately ' <br /> 1,400 feet west of the intersection of Loomis Road and Califorhia Highway 99 Frontage Road. <br /> 2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is presently utilized as a truck-depot for freight ansportation..The site consists of.a large ! <br /> building utilized for office space and a storage yard. Two 12,000-gallon diesel USTs and one 1,000 <br /> gallon waste oil UST were formerly-located ori the prop rty: . <br /> 2.2: UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> Two 12,00079allon diesel USTs(Tank No. f and Tank No . 2);two fuel dispensers'an.d all associated <br /> product `piping were removed from the site on: 29.Sep ember. 1998. Laboratory analysis of soil <br /> samples collected beneath the diesel USTs/dispenser isla ad area and:product piping.detected fatal <br /> • petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d),: t concentrations as high as 5,100 mg/kg <br /> ' (milligrams per kilogram).
