The report includes the results of water samples collected from
the monitoring wells on April 15, 2002.
The results show that MTBE was not detected in monitoring well MW6A that had
showed low level detections of MTBE in the previous two quarters.
Concentrations of MTBE in the other monitoring wells were non detect except for
MW4A and MW413 with concentrations of .86 ug/L and .82 ug/L respectively.
The groundwater extraction system (GWE) was not operated during the third and
fourth quarters of 2001. There appears to be no rebound in gasoline constituent
concentrations since the GWE system was shut down. EHD agrees with
Cambria's recommendation that the GWE system remain shut down.
Cambria recommended a reduction in the sampling frequency of MW2, MW3,
MW5A, MW513 and MW613 to annual, the second quarter of each year. EHD
agrees to the reduction of sampling of MW2 and MW3 to annual. Since MW5A,
MW513 and MW613 have been determined to be down gradient of the source area
during previous monitoring events they should continue to be sampled quarterly.
The laboratory data sheets in the report only show BTEX, MTBE and TPH as
gasoline analysis using EPA Method 826013. EHD directs you to have the
complete suite of petroleum constituents and fuel additives run using EPA
Method 8260B and to report all peaks so that any chemicals resulting from
degradation of the MTBE can be identified.
