San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Closure Addendum
— Vapor Intrusion Analysis, dated November 14, 2006, prepared and submitted by Cambria
Environmental Technology, Inc. (Cambria) on your behalf for the above-referenced site. EHD
concurs with Cambria's assessment that vapor intrusion does not appear to pose a threat at this
site. This is based on the absence of petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in shallow soil
samples collected from boring CPT-1 and well EW-1, and groundwater samples collected during
the last groundwater monitoring event in April 2005.
EHD has discussed closure consideration for this site with the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)and has concluded that since nearly two years have gone by
since last groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells at this site, an additional
sampling event is necessary to assess the current groundwater conditions at this site. You are
directed to collect groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4A,
MW413, MW-5A, MW-5B, MW-6A, MW-613, and extraction wells EW-1 and EW-2.
Groundwater samples are to be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g);
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE),
ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), di-isopropyl ether(RIPE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME),
tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), methanol, ethanol, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-
dibromoethane(EDB).
