SITE CODE 506186
,341 East Main.Street RO: 445
Ripon, California
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed
Groundwater Monitoring Report—Fourth Quarter 2004 dated February 23, 2005, and
prepared by Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc. (Cambria) for the above-
referenced site. In this report, Cambria acknowledges that the preparation of closure
request is forthcoming. In the meantime, Cambria recommends the following action.
• Dismantle the remediation system;
• Discontinue the monthly sampling of monitoring well MW-6A;
• Reduce the sampling frequency from quarterly to semi-annually for monitoring
wells MW-1, MW-4A, MW-4B, MW-5A, MW-5B, MW-6A, MW=6B, and
extraction wells EW-1, and EW-2.
EHD agrees that the groundwater extraction and treatment system should be dismantled
since it has not operated in over three years and there is no indication that groundwater
concentrations have rebounded since the system was taken out of production. Please
remove the remediation system at your earliest convenience.
EHD also agrees that the monthly sampling of MW-6A terminate. Instead, MW-6A
should be monitored and sampled quarterly.
EHD does not believe it is necessary to change the present sampling schedule currently in
place, especially if there is a closure of this site in the near future. By letter dated August
2004, EHD requested that either a work plan be submitted to further investigation this
site,;;or a site closure report be prepared and submitted to EHD and the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board for evaluation. Please submit the work plan or .
closure summary report by June 1, 2005.
i
i
