This directive was included in the letter after discussion with Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)staff. A copy of the Cambria August 28,
2002, letter was provided to CVRWQCB staff and EHD has been informed that they discussed
the intent of the directive with Cambria on September 23, 2002. Hopefully, the intent of the
directive has been discussed with you, which is that during the normal coarse of analysis for the
constituents of concern (BTEX, TPH as gasoline, fuel oxygenates)that all peaks identified by
EPA Method 8260 be reported to EHD and the CVRWQCB in your reports.
Since MTBE has again been detected in the water samples collected from MW6A, Shell has
initiated a monthly sampling schedule for that well. EHD would like the results of those samples
sent to them via facsimile, as they become available. In addition, Nuel Henderson, Registered
Geologist, working for EHD, will be reviewing the information in our file on this site and may be
providing comments on the site in the future.
If you have any questions contact me at(209)468-3449.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Unit IV
C: Cambria—Joe Neely
City of Ripon Engineer, 259 N.Wilma Avenue, Ripon
Robert G. den Dulk,2412 Avenue 360, Kingsburg, CA 93631
Jeanne Zolezzi Esq.- Herum, Crabtree, Brown, 2291 W.
