i Y CA [ B R I A GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION Interim Groundwater Remediation: Blaine began weekly purging of onsite monitoring well MW-1 on November 10, 1998 and onsite extraction well EW-1 on March 11, 1999. This practice continued until the groundwater extraction(GWE)system was started during March 2000. Groundwater Remediation System Operation: Cambria installed a GWE system at this site which began operation in March 2000 and was shut down in July 2001. Hydrocarbon and MTBE concentrations have been substantially reduced in wells at the site. The GWE system extracted groundwater from well EW-1 at approximately five gallons per minute. An estimate of contaminant mass removed by the GWE system is summarized in the following table. Water 2,295,500 gals ANTICIPATED THIRD QUARTER 2003 ACTIVITIES Blaine will gauge and sample all wells and tabulate the data. Cambria will prepare a groundwater monitoring report. Groundwater samples will be collected monthly from well MW-6A and these data will be reported via facsimile as we receive them from the lab, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Groundwater analytical data from all of the wells at this site continue to show a declining or stable trend. Sporadic low level detections of MTBE in well MW-6A prompted a monthly sampling schedule for this well beginning in September 2002. Monthly groundwater analytical data from samples collected on February 24, March 28, and April 8, 2003 are included in this monitoring report. MTBE has not been detected in MW-6A since November 2002.
