5, a
CAM BRIA
•
minute. An estimate of contaminant mass removed by the GWE system is summarized in the
following table.
MASS REMOVAL BY GROUNDWATER EXTRACTION
Constituent Total Removed
Total Hydrocarbons 1.8 lbs
MTBE 15.2 lbs
Water 2,295,500 gals
ANTICIPATED FOURTH QUARTER 2002 ACTIVITIES
Blaine will gauge and sample all wells and tabulate the data. Cambria will prepare a groundwater
monitoring report.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Groundwater analytical data from all of the wells at this site continue to show a declining or
stable trend with the exception of well MW-6A. MTBE was detected in this well during the
regular quarterly sampling event at a concentration of 26 parts per billion (ppb). This well had
previous detections of MTBE during the fourth quarter 2001 and first quarter 2002,but no MTBE
was detected during the second quarter 2002 monitoring event.
Since MTBE has again been detected in this well, we have initiated a monthly sampling schedule
for this well. This increased sampling frequency will provide more data, which will allow us to
evaluate the MTBE occurrence in this well better. The monthly sampling schedule has already
been implemented and a second groundwater sample was collected on September 6, 2002 from
this well. The concentration of MTBE detected in this sample was 8.7 ppb. These results are
included in this monitoring report.
If the City of Ripon or San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department are interested in
receiving the monthly sampling results for this well as they become available, we would be
willing to send them via facsimile, as they become available to us.
