' C A M B R I A Mx Ron Rowe
April 16, 1999
summarized in Table 1 Complete analytical reports for the investigation are included in
Attachment F
CPT Ground Water Analytical Results No TPPH, BTEX, TAME, DIPE, ETBE, tert-Butanol,
or ethanol were detected in the grab ground water samples MTBE was detected in three
groundwater samples from two of the CPT borings Detected MTBE concentrations were
3010 micrograms per liter (gg/L) and 141 gg/L in CPT-11 at depths of 48 ft-bgs and 55 5 ft-bgs,
respectively, and 27 µg/L in CPT-12 at a depth of 30 ft-bgs Methanol was detected at 2 0 gg/L
m only the sample from CPT-11 at 48 ft bgs Analytical results are summarized in Table 2
Complete analytical reports for the investigation are included in Attachment F
IGround Water Analytical Results: No TPPH, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, EDB or 1,2 DCA
were detected in the ground water samples from the newly installed extraction and ground water
monitoring wells MTBE was detected in wells MW-1 and EW-1 by EPA Method 8020 at
concentrations of 112,000 gg/L and 5,090 gg/L, respectively Toluene was detected in wells
MW-2 and MW-3 at concentrations of 190 gg/L and 193 gg/L, respectively Xylenes were
detected in wells MW-2 and MW-3 at concentrations of 0 602 pg/L and 0 672 gg/L, respectively
Methanol was detected only in MW-3 at 2 3 gg/L Analytical results are summarized in Table 3
Complete analytical reports for the investigation are included in Attachment F
' CONCLUSIONS
The horizontal and vertical extent of TPPH, BTEX, MTBE, and methanol in soil were defined by
the CPT boring installations during thus phase and previous phases of the investigation
The lateral extent of hydrocarbons in ground water is defined to the north, south, and southeast by
this investigation, and to the southwest and west by this and previous phases of the investigation
To the east in boring CPT-12, MTBE concentrations decrease with depth, and were not detected
at more than 30 ft bgs The horizontal extent of MTBE is defined to the north by well MW-3
CPT borings CPT-1, CPT-2, and CPT-11 show that MTBE concentrations in ground water
decrease with depth along the southeastern edge of the site, in the vicinity of the source area
Concentrations attenuate to 141 }ig/L at 55 5 ft bgs in CPT-11
I
6
