SITE CHARACTERIZATION REPORT - <br /> -FIRE STATION NO. 12 <br /> 4010 EAST MAIN STREET <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> L.t 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This site `characterization was performed to assess the horizontal and vertical extent of <br /> petroleum product constituent(PPC) migration in soil at the City of Stockton, Fire Station <br /> No. 12 facility in.Stockton, California. The presumed source of the PPCs was an apparent <br /> release petroleum fuel from underground storage tanks.(USTs) which were removed from <br /> the site in September 1994. <br /> This work was authorized by Mr. John Fukumoto, Senior Civil Engineer, City of Stockton <br /> Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division, in a contract (PO# 069242) dated <br /> March 6, 1995. (Twining), located in Fresno, California. <br /> I <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> The following subsections describe the site, the geologic and hydrologic characteristics, and <br /> the project history. <br /> i <br /> 2.1 Site Description: The site is located at 4010-East Main Street on the southeastern <br /> corner of East Main Street and Hinkley Avenue. The site elevation is approximately 30 feet. <br /> above mean sea level. Drawing 1 is a site location map. <br /> The City of Stockton, Fire Station No. 12 facility consists of a single story, frame on slab, <br /> fire house. The remaining portions of the site consist of landscaped areas and paved f <br /> parking areas. The former USTs and fuel dispensers were located approximately 33 feet <br /> south of the firehouse in one tank pit. The site is bound on the north by East Main Street, <br /> on the east by residences, south by paved parking and residential areas, and on the west by <br /> Hinkley Avenue.
