San Joaquin Street
Stockton, Ca. 95201
USTs at City of Stockton's Fire Engine Company #12
4010 E. Main Street, Stockton
Please accept this letter as the City's Letter of Intent, as specified in your July 21, 1993 letter,
for the removal of two underground storage tanks at the Fire Engine Company #12 at 4010 East
Main Street, Stockton.
As indicated in Fire Chief Douglas C. Ratto's June 18, 1993 letter, the City will need a time
extension to resolve different issues with the Eastside Fire Protection District, the legal owner
of the building, prior to the removals. The City sent payment of $468 in the beginning of
August, 1993 for the tank closure fees.
The staff of the City of Stockton and Eastside Fire Protection District have come to an
agreement regarding the formula for sharing the cost involved for the removal and the possible
remediation of these tanks. The City Attorney's Office is in the process of drafting the
agreement for execution by both parties. After the execution of this agreement the City will
solicit bids for the removal of these two tanks. It is our hope to have a contractor on board by
the end of December, 1993 and to submit the Closure Plan to you in January 1994.
Thank you very much for your patience. if you have any questions please contact me at 944-
8827.
`l,XCt (1-n
STEPH& CHEN
DEPUTY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR/SWB
SC:SAR
cc: Dwane Milnes, City Manager
Doug Ratto, Fire Chief
James B.
