Activities were performed
in accordance with SECOR's Work Plan for Well Destruction dated November 1, 2004. The
work plan was approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(County) as indicated in the letter dated November 1, 2004 (Attachment 1). The work was
performed in order to obtain no further action status from the County.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is a former Chevron service station located at the northeast corner of East Main
Street and F Street in Stockton, California (Figure 1). Currently, the site is a vacant lot.
Former facilities at the site included three gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs), one
waste oil UST, underground product piping and associated dispensers.
In April 1999 SECOR installed three monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) at the site. On
May 28, 2003, SECOR supervised Cascade Drilling (Cascade) of Rancho Cordova,
California, during the installation of MW-4.
During the fourth quarter 2004 (4Q04) sampling event, depth to groundwater across the site
ranged from 56.39 to 57.58 below ground surface (bgs). Groundwater flow direction was
south at an approximate gradient of 0.008 feet per foot (ft/ft). Monitoring wells MW-1,
MW-2, and MW-3 have been monitored and sampled quarterly since April 15, 1999. MW-4
has been monitored and sampled quarterly since October 31, 2003. During the quarterly
sampling events, groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHg) by Method 8015; benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX),
1:1Chevron1962581REPORTS1200452004 Well Destruction Report 1.doc
