SECOR www secorcom <br /> INTERNATIONAL <br /> (� fff {{{ 3 <br /> ® � iNCQRPORATEa � A�� <br /> . 916-861-0430 FAx <br /> J U L 0 7 2003 <br /> July 3, 2003 ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Mr Jeffrey W ong <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> RE 2003 Site Assessment Report and Sensitive Receptor Survey Report <br /> Former Chevron Service Station 9-6258 <br /> 2409 East Main Street j <br /> Stockton, California <br /> SECOR Project No 77CH 96258 01 0103 <br /> Dear Mr Wong <br /> ,j <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Environmental Management <br /> �I <br /> Company (Chevron), presents this report to document the results of assessment activities and a + <br /> sensitive receptor survey at the above-referenced site (Figure 1) The site assessment activities <br /> consisted of drilling and installing one downgradient groundwater monitoring well (Figure 2) The <br /> sensitive receptor survey consisted of performing a 500-foot door-to-door well search, reviewing <br /> Department of Water Resources (DWR) drillers well logs, and contacting local water purveyors and <br /> . state agencies (Figure 3) The purpose of this assessment is to further delineate the horizontal <br /> extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater downgradient of the former underground storage <br /> tank (UST) and evaluate any potential sensitive receptors in the vicinity of the site This work was <br /> completed in accordance with SECOR's Work Plan for Further Assessment, dated May 13, 2002 <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> t <br /> The site was previously utilized as a Chevron service station and is located at the northeast corner of <br /> East Main Street and F Street in Stockton, California The site Is currently vacant Former facilities <br /> on the site Included three gasoline USTs, one waste oil UST, underground product piping and <br /> associated dispensers The USTs were reportedly installed at the site in 1955 and the gasoline <br /> USTs were reportedly removed In 1976 The waste oil tank was removed in 1996 The former USTs <br /> consisted of three steel-walled gasoline fuel tanks (one 5,000-gallon supreme, one 2,000-gallon mid- <br /> grade, and one 5,000-gallon regular) and one steel-walled 550-gallon waste oil tank (Figure 2) A <br /> summary of previous investigations Is presented in Attachment A <br /> SITE ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> On May 28, 2003, SECOR supervised Cascade Drilling (Cascade) of Sacramento, California, as <br /> they advanced one soil boring to approximately 68 feet below ground surface (bgs) using 8-inch <br /> diameter hollow-stem augers at the location shown on Figure 2 The first eight feet (bgs) of the soil <br /> boring was evacuated using an air knife technique Soil samples were collected for logging and/or <br /> chemical analysis at five-foot intervals, starting at approximately 10 feet bgs Upon completion of <br /> drilling, a 2-inch diameter groundwater monitoring well (MW-4) was Installed in the boring <br /> A summary of the field and laboratory procedures followed during these activities Is Included as <br /> Attachment B The findings of this assessment are summarized below <br /> 11Ghevron1962581REPORTSISAR_2003 doc <br />
