PACIFIC <br /> oversaw the removal of the backfill in the former gasoline UST pit <br /> Limited over-excavation was performed in the southeast corner of the <br /> former UST pit Additionally, exploratory excavation was performed <br /> in the area of the former product lines Soil samples were collected <br /> in each of these areas <br /> • Waste Oil Tank Removal. One waste oil tank and the associated <br /> sump drain line were removed and compliance soil samples were <br /> collected beneath each structure <br /> • Soil Analysis. Selected soil samples samples were submitted to a <br /> California State-certified laboratory and analyzed for the presence of <br /> TPH-g, BTEX compounds, and lead In addition, selected soil <br /> samples collected from the area of the former waste oil tank were <br /> also analyzed for the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> calculated as diesel (TPH-d), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), <br /> semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), oil and grease (O&G), <br /> and CAM 17 metals <br /> • Field and laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment A and certified analytical <br /> reports and chain-of-custody documentation are included as Attachment B <br /> FINDINGS <br /> Summary of Field Activities <br /> On June 18, 1996, a geophysical survey of the site was conducted by NorCal <br /> Geophysical Consultants, Inc On September 23, 1996, field activities included the <br /> removal of one underground waste oil tank, excavation and removal of soil and concrete <br /> debris from the former gasoline UST pit, and exploratory excavation in the area of the <br /> former product lines On October 23, 1996, field activities included over-excavation in <br /> the southeast corner of the former UST pit and offsite disposal of impacted soil <br /> Sampling of soil was conducted on September 23 and October 23, 1996 Offsite <br /> disposal of soil was completed on October 24, 1996 Waste oil tank removal and soil <br /> excavation was performed by Henderson Construction of Stockton, California <br /> (Henderson) Tank removal and soil excavation and sampling activities were observed <br /> by Ron Rowe of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) <br /> and yourself <br /> r� <br /> 9200191 A/5]I LI' [I DOC <br />
