i <br /> - � 10 INTRODUCTION <br /> 11 Purpose of Investigation <br /> �t The MARK Group, Inc (MARK) has performed this Phase I Environmental Site <br /> Assessment (ESA) for The Hinainan Trust pursuant to our letter of engagement signed <br /> ' January 30, 1995 The "subject site" is at 2409 Main Street, Stockton, California The <br /> purpose of this ESA is to <br /> 0 Review past and current land use for indications of the manufacture, generation, <br /> use, storage and/or disposal of hazardous substances on or adjacent to the site, <br /> ■ Identify to the extent feasible recognized environmental conditions in connection <br /> with the subject site The ESA is intended to evaluate the potential for the <br /> presence of hazardous or toxic chemicals in the soil and/or groundwater resulting <br /> from past and present land use activities To the extent possible, potential <br /> sources of hazardous or toxic chemicals from adjacent off-site operations will also <br /> be evaluated, and <br /> ■ Render findings and professional opinion regarding the potential for adverse <br /> environmental impacts on or adjacent to the site <br /> J <br /> 12 Scope of Work <br /> } <br /> The scope of work performed for this ESA consisted of the following tasks <br /> ■ Field reconnaissance to view environmental land-use conditions on the subject <br /> site and adjacent properties, <br /> M Review of readily available literature for prevailing hydrogeologic conditions in <br /> the area of the site, <br /> ■ Review of historical land-use information, <br /> ■ Interviews of persons familiar with the subject site operations and history, <br /> ■ Search of federal, state and county environmental databases through <br /> Environmental Data Resource, Inc, <br /> ■ Preparation of this ESA report to present the findings and professional opinions <br /> ' regarding potential recognized environmental conditions on the site <br /> PHASE1 1 1-1 95-1104801 <br />
