 AMBRIA
1996 Tank Replacement: In August 1996, three gasoline underground storage tanks (located in
the northwest corner of the site), four product dispensers, and associated piping were removed
and replaced with two fiberglass gasoline storage tanks(in the northeast portion of the site), new
product dispensers, and new fiberglass piping Cambria collected soil samples during the
replacement of the USTs,dispenser islands, and product lines at the site
The maximum TPHg concentration detected in soil samples collected from the former tank pit
was 1,300 parts per million (ppm) total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) in a sample
collected from 13 feet below grade (fbg) beneath the east end of the northernmost UST This
area was over-excavated to a depth of 25 fbg, and a subsequent sample collected at that depth -
contained less than 5 ppm of TPHg The maximum benzene and MTBE concentrations detected
in soil samples collected beneath the former tank pit were 0 055 ppm and 12 ppm, respectively
2
TPHg was detected in only one soil sample collected beneath the dispensers at the site at a
concentration of 1,200 ppm The area was subsequently over-excavated to approximately 9 fbg,
and no TPHg was detected in a soil sample collected at this depth No benzene was detected in
soil samples collected froiabenerh the dispenser islands at the site MTBE was detected in one
I 4-. soil sample collected fronF eneath the dispensers at a concentration of 0 22 ppm. This area was
also over-excavated to approximately 9 fbg, and no MTBE was detected in the soil sample
collected at this depth
TPHg and benzene were detected in one soil sample collected beneath the piping and vent lines
at the site at concentrations of 3 1 ppm and 0 028 ppm, respectively MTBE was detected in two
soil samples collected beneath the piping and vent lines with a maximum concentration of
34 ppm The sampling, excavation, and analytical results are documented in Cambria's
July 16, 1997 Underground Storage Tank Removal and Soil Sampling Report
1997 Horst Removal. In September 1997, three hydraulic hoists were replaced at the site, and
Cambria collected soil samples beneath the hoists No total petroleum hydrocarbons as hydraulic
oil or benzene was detected in the soil samples collected Hoist removal sampling results are
documented in Cambria's October 17, 1997 Hoist Replacement Sampling Report .I-
1998 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation- In March 1998, Cambria installed three
groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) at the site (Figure 2) Up to 19 ppm
TPHg was detected in soil samples collected from well MW-1, located adjacent to the former
USTs in the northwest corner of the site No TPHg or benzene was detected in any other soil —
0323 2
