The purpose of this assessment is to determine if methyl tertiary butyl ether <br /> (MtBE) is a potential threat to a municipal supply well located to the southeast of the <br /> site (Figure 1). <br /> This work plan includes a brief discussion of site background, summary of previous <br /> investigations, and proposed scope of work. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is an operating Chevron service station located in a commercial area of <br /> Manteca, California. The current station facilities include three dispenser islands under <br /> a common canopy, three 12,000 gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs), and <br /> a station building (Figure 2). <br /> No information regarding previous investigations was available at the time of this work <br /> plan. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work for this site assessment will include the drilling and installation of <br /> three groundwater monitoring wells at the general locations shown on Figure 2.
