J. Hunter&Associates for the above referenced
site.
The quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) laboratory data sheets for the
dates the samples were analyzed were not included in the report. In addition,
the QA/QC data sheets for the samples collected September 5, 1997 have still
not been submitted to PHS/EHD. Submit these data sheets immediately.
The installation of MW4 was to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of soil and
groundwater contamination. Unfortunately, the data from this well has shown
significant concentrations of contamination in the soil and groundwater.
When the water sample was collected from MW4 on December 2, 1997, there
was sheen on the purge water from the well as noted in the monitoring well field
log prepared by Del-Tech. At this time PHS/EHD directs quarterly monitoring of
the site monitoring wells continue with groundwater samples being collected from
MWI and MW4. The next monitoring event should occur in March 1998 and
samples should be analyzed for BTEX and TPH as diesel.
The effect of the continued rise in the level of depth to groundwater and release
of contamination from the soil to the groundwater must be monitored. The need
for further site assessment and remediation will be based on the information
gathered.
As PHS/EHD has previously stated, drinking water in this area of the county is
provide by private well. Apparently, this parcel is being provided water by a well
located on another nearby parcel. This situation may change in the future and
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
