(GTI) on your behalf. In this work plan GTI proposes to perform a pilot
test to evaluate the effects of combining biosparging with bioventing as a means to reduce diesel
petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at the above-referenced site. In conjunction with performing
the biosparing/bioventing pilot test, GTI also proposes to perform a dual phase soil vapor extraction
and groundwater extraction pilot test to evaluate the effects of high vacuum vapor extraction to
remove diesel contamination and possibly prevent the spread of petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination that could result from biosparging/bioventing.
EHD approves the above-referenced work plan as submitted for performing the pilot tests. Please
submit a well permit application and permit/inspection fee of$374 to EHD for the installation of
injection wells IW-I with a screening interval between 42 and 44 feet below surface grade (bsg)
and IW-101 with a screening interval between 55 and 57 feet bsg; installation of extraction wells
EW-1, EW-2, and EW-3, each with a screening interval between 42 and 44 feet bsg, and EW-101,
EW-102, and EW-103, each with a screening interval between 55 and 57 feet bsg; and installation
of one deep sparing well AS-1 with a ceramic diffuser set at 70 to 72 feet bsg.
If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209)468-3456 or by electronic mail
at vmccartney a,sicehd.com. .
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department `
Victoria L.Mc a Senior REHS Nuel C.Henderson PG
y Jr.,
Unit IV-Site Mitigation Engineering Geologist
Unit IV-Site Mitigation
c: James L.L.Barton, PG—CVRWQCB
Raynold 1.Kablanow H,Ph.D., PG—GTI
