(GTI) prepared and submitted our Additional Site Characterization
Work Plan (Work Plan) dated March 3, 2005 to SJC/EHD. In their letter correspondence
dated_ March 14, 2005 the SJC/EHD made some recommendations to the Work Plan.
GTI concurs with the SJC/EHD recommendations and modify the work P ian as follows:
L1. CPT-1 borehole will be advanced to a depth of 120 feet bgs.
2. All other proposed boreholes will be advanced to an appropriate depth based on the
lithology and field indications of contamination found during the initial advancement
of the first borehole.
3. Lateral definition boreholes— two more CPT boiings (CPT-9 &CPT-10) as shown in
Figure 1. These borings will provide better delineation of the up gradient lateral
margins of the contamination plume.
4. CPT boring locations (CPT-1 through CPT 8). will be in the same location as
described in the Work Plan (shown in Figure 1). -4
Justification of the Boring Locations: `
CPT-5, CPT-6 and CPT-7: The. historical groundwater directions from the quarterly
monitoring reports indicate that the groundwatee(deep and shallow) direction has
ranged predominately southeast to southwest.) These borings will be helpful to
provide better delineation of the lateral extent of the contamination plume in the down
gradient directions.
- I
