A previous consultant, Wm. J. Hunter & Associates (WJH), installed four
groundwater monitoring wells in an . effort to determine if diesel fuel had impacted
groundwater. In 1992, diesel contamination was detected in groundwater at the site. The San
Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Divisions (SJC PHS/EHD)
subsequently directed that an investigation of the diesel release be investigated.
The work performed to date is summarized below*:
• March 1987—Two 5,000 gallon diesel USTs removed.
• March 1988 — UST excavation deepened to 29 feet below grade surface (bgs).
Excavation was filled with clean backfill:
• April 1992 - Three groundwater monitoring wells:installed (MW-1 through MW-3),
( Wm. J. Hunter&Associates.
L • May 1996—A single.soil boring (LB-1)to 80 feet bgs installed,Lush Geosciences.
• September 1997-Well MW-4 installation,Wm. J.
