GeofDgwadTec&v-s Me Page 5 Groundwater Monitonng Report Project No 770 2 r November 13,2001 Well MW-4 lies adjacent to the former UST field Figure 5- MW-4 TPH-D vs Groundwater Elevation suggests an inverse relationship between groundwater elevation and contaminant concentrations in well MW-4 It is noted that the groundwater elevation exceeded the screened interval of well MW-4 and dilution may be taking place ' Conversely, the water table lies within the screened interval of well MW-5 and this may represent a more accurate reflection of residual contamination leaching into groundwater GTI makes the following recommendations • Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring for determining direction and contaminant trends ' • Perform monthly groundwater level measurements for one year • Install two additional deep wells screened similar to MW-105 to evaluate possible differences in shallow versus deep plume movement The wells should be placed in the locations of wells MW-6 and the northeast corner of the shop building GTI submitted an October 25, 2001 "Additional Site Characterization, Soil Boring & Monitoring Well Installation" work plan to San Joaquin County PHS/EHD to complete the above recommendations and we are awaiting a response 3.0 LIMITATIONS ' This report was prepared in accordance with the accepted standards and practices of t 13 p p p he field of environmental geology, groundwater hydrology and good business practices It ' should be recognized that definition and evaluation of environmental conditions is a difficult and an inexact science Judgments leading to conclusions and recommendations ' are generally made with an incomplete knowledge of the site-specific conditions present The tasks proposed and completed during this project were reviewed and approved by the ' local regulatory agency for compliance with the law No warranty, expressed or implied, is made ` I 1
