1
January 9, 1997 - WJH subrmtted a report covering the above work, and requested the site be
closed Refer to that report titled "Results of 11127/96 Groundwater Sampling and Request for
Closure" for more details
March 25, 1997 - The San Joaquin County PHS, EHD informed the owners that the Technical
Review Committee had reviewed the site and would not approve site closure The EHD
required an additional monitoring well to be placed on the property
April 3, 1997 - WJH submitted a workplan to perform the work required
April 15, 1997 - The San Joaquin Co EHD approved the workplan with modifications
Sept. 4, 1997 - Monitoring well #4 was placed as shown on PLATE II. Soil & water samples
revealed minor amounts of gasoline compounds, but significant levels of TEPH as diesel (See
TABLES H& III details ) Water samples taken in December, 1997, and March& July, 1998
from MW-1 & MW-4 showed minor amounts of TEPH as diesel, BTEX& TPHg were below
detection limits The results of all water analyses are summarized on TABLE A.
PROPOSED WORKPLAN: (Revised January 8, 1999)
Upon receipt of approval of the workplan from the San Joaquin EHD, bids will be solicited from
qualified drilling contractors and other vendors, and a package prepared for submittal to the
State Cleanup Fund for pre-approval of the work When that is received, the work will be
scheduled as soon as possible Your office will be notified at least 48 hours prior to
commencing operations
A copy of a general health& safety plan is attached as EXHIBIT B.
1 The approximate locations of MW-5& MW-6 are shown on PLATE IL MW-5 will be
placed first The final location of MW-6 may be adjusted depending upon the results of field
observations during the placement of MW-5. After obtaining a drilling permit from the San
Joaquin Co EHD, mobilize properly licensed auger rig equipped with sufficient hollow-stem
flights to complete each soil boring/well without having to decontaminate augers
2 Depth to water will be determined in either MW-1 or MW-4 prior to beginning operations
3 Soil sampling equipment to consist of either (a) conventional 18" split-spoon sampler, or (b)
wireline operated continuous coring device At least two (2) devices will be available so that
one can be cleaned while the other is in use
4 Both MW-5 & MW-6 will be sampled at 5 foot intervals from 15'below grade to 100', or
until three(3) consecutive samples do not show any evidence of contamination Samples will be
screened with a PID or similar device, those which reveal evidence of contamination will be
3
