Although the two previous water samples
did not show any contamination, the latest test results revealed
a detectable amount of TPH—D, (0. 11 mg/L, ) but no DTEX.
We have also included an updated exhibit showing the direction of
hydraulic gradient based on the latest water level, measurements.
That data indicates the direction of flow has changed from almost
due westerly about 110 degrees to the southeast. The reason for
this shift is not known, but is appears that additional data is
needed before any additional wells are placed. If the gradient
continues to shift southeasterly, and stabilizes in that direct-
ion, MW #2 would be in a down gradient position, and could be
monitored for evidence of contamination.
Because of the variation in the data recorded to date, we do not
feel it is possible at this time to determine where an additional
well would be placed, if indeed one is needed. We recommend that
,the quarterly monitoring be continued at least until sufficient
data is available to indicate some consistency in the direction
of the hydraulic gradient.
Your "Hunter
Wil
i 1 .
cc.: John Marci
