' w
E
( FE
CONCLUSIONS:
r
ifThe reason for the large increase in diesel components identified in the groundwater from
= this latest event is not fully understood. Based on measured data,MW-4 was in a down-
gradient position during the September sampling, but uupgradient in December. Levels of
fi TEPH in the water (higher in the upgradient direction,) are just the opposite of what
€ should be expected. We believe the aquifer has very low transmissivity, and is of limited
lateral extent. It has been fully demonstrated that the gradient is extremely divergent.
Therefore, fluid movement in the aquifer will be very slow to adjust to changes in hydrau-
lic gradient. This is the most likely reason for the change in levels of concentrations as
measured by the two events.
to date, we continue to believe that the contamination
Based upon all of the data collected
encountered beneath this site is not in communication with other aquifers, and that further
work is not warranted.
RECOMMENDATION:
As we have repeatedly stated in prior reports, we believe this is a ver+"low risk' site, that
additional work is not justified, and the site should be closed.
i }
IM
d
Aohnc:
ter associates
Marci
RWCQB
Garrison Law Corp. 0 GE
'CR
UM!J.Hl':TER
orn
OF CPkV,'KCa I
Ey
I
f1[
'f
fl
' r
2
` A
