4 . After verify water depth, augers will be advanced a minimum <br /> of 10 ' below groundwater, and 411 , blank & slotted, flush screw- <br /> thread Sch. 40 PVC will be run to bottom. The bottom 20 ' of <br /> pipe will consist of . 020" machine cut slots; the remainder will <br /> be blank. The annular space between the slotted interval and <br /> hole will be filled with #2-12 clean sand poured in from the <br /> surface . The sand is to extend a minimum of 5 ' above the top of <br /> the screen; it will be capped with 2-3 feet of bentonite . The <br /> remaining annular space will be filled with a cement/bentonite <br /> slurry placed with a flexible hose and/or tremie pipe. <br /> 5 . The top of the casing will be fitted with a pre-formed <br /> Christie type box which will be thoroughly cemented in place. <br /> The top of the casing will be fitted with a locking cap, and the <br /> box fitted with a bolt down traffic cover. <br /> 6 . The preserved soil samples will be delivered to a State <br /> Certified laboratory with instructions to analyze for BETX, TPH <br /> as gasoline & diesel , bulk density, effective porosity, and <br /> organic carbon. Depending upon those results, one or more <br /> samples will be analyzed for leaching potential using either the <br /> WET or TCLP procedure using de-ionized water. Laboratory <br /> detection limits & QA/QC will conform to County & Tri-Regional <br /> requirements . <br /> 7 . Within 24-36 hours after completion of the well, it will be <br /> purged & sampled using San Joaquin Co. approved procedures . <br /> Water samples will be analyzed for BETX, TPHg, & TPHd using <br /> County & Tri-Regional detection limits and QA/QC methodology. <br /> After analyzing all of the laboratory data from the soil & water <br /> samples, and report will be prepared and submitted to the County <br /> EP.
