I <br /> FULLER MOBILE HOME PARK <br /> 365 East Louise, Lathrop, California <br /> Phase I Remedial Report <br /> 1.0 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION <br /> This project has been developed to investigate a former underground storage tank <br /> facility at the Fuller Mobile Home Park located at 365 East Louise Avenue in Lathrop, <br /> California (Figure 1) The phase T work explored the extent of gasoline, diesel fuel, <br /> Benzene, Toluene, Xylenes, and Ethyl Benzene (BTX&E) released to the subsurface in <br /> the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks <br /> 1.1 Site Description & History <br /> On September 7, 1990, SEMCO, under permit, removed Fuliei Mobile Home <br /> Park's fuel facility, which consisted of two (2) underground storage tanks, a <br /> 550 gallon diesel tank and a 1,000 gallon gasoline tank Soil sample3 taken <br /> under the tanks disclosed concentrations of gasoline, diesel, and BTX&L <br /> The City of Lathrop has required Fuller Mobile Home Park to in%mlt storm <br /> water retention ponds and one of the ponds will encompass the formes tank <br /> excavation The pond will be approximately 60 feet wide by 160 long Con- <br /> struction of the pond will involve removing all of the backfill material as well as <br /> some or all of the contaminated soils beneath the former tanks (Figure 2) <br /> 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> IOn March 31 and April l 1,1992, WHF Environmental Consultants drilled four (4) soil <br /> I borings in the vicinity of the former underground tanks and obtained groundwater <br /> samples from the borings through a stainless steel well casing slotted five feet (5) from <br /> the bottom The borings were to surround the former excavation to the north, south, <br /> west and east After drilling the first boring (B-1) 14 feet from the center of the exca- <br /> vation to the west and finding petroleum saturated soils and groundwater, we decided to <br /> omit the east boring which, due to the location of the property line, would have placed <br /> it within the former excavation, an area of known contamination The fourth bonng, B- <br /> 4, was instead placed 10 feet west of B-1 to help define the limits of contamination in <br /> the soil Boring B-2 was placed to the north about 31 feet from the center of the former <br /> excavation and boring B-3 was located to the south about 33 feet from the center of the <br /> former excavation (Figure 3) <br />
