Phase II Site Characterization- Continued Page: 2 <br /> IOn November 22, 1994, WHF drilled two borings, B-5 and B-6, to obtain data to help <br /> determine placement of additional monitoring wells Laboratory soil samples were <br /> obtained at five and ten feet below ground level and a groundwater sample was bailed <br /> from each boring through a stainless steel screen inside the augers B-5 soil samples were <br /> ND, but the groundwater sample had BTEX contamination B-6 was ND for both soil <br /> and water Morutori ng well MW4 was installed in the sidewalk of B=be Street in the <br /> apparent down-gradient direction Laboratory sort samples were obtained at five, ten and <br /> twenty-five feet below ground level <br /> On December 21, 1994, after receiving the analytical results from the previous borings, <br /> WHF drilled and installed three monitoring wells, MW-5, 6 and 7 Each was 25 feet deep <br /> and soil samples were taken at five and ten feet <br /> In June 1997 at the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental <br /> Health Department (PHS/EHD), a Site Summary for Closure Report was generated for <br /> review by the Technical Review Committee (TRC) In August 1997 that report was <br /> developed and forwarded to San Joaquin County <br /> lie On September 26, 1997 the San Joaquin County TRC met and reviewed the request On <br /> October 8, 1997 the findings of that meeting were published in the form of a rejection on <br /> closure and a request for additional investigation <br /> On October 28, 1997 an appeal of that outcome was requested under the authority of <br /> Senate Bill (SB) 562, Section 25299 39 2(b) H&SC , to the State Water Resources <br /> Board On January 22, 1998 correspondence was received from the State Water <br /> Resources Board which upheld the San Joaquin County TRC position <br /> On January 28, 1998 WHF, Inc , submitted a work plan to San Joaquin County PHS/EHD <br />' for additional work to be executed On February 27, 1998 a letter from PHS/EHD <br /> requested revisions to that work to expand the vertical depth elevation of the site <br /> investigation and additional groundwater sampling <br /> IOn April 13, 1998 pre approval of this revised Scope of Work was received from the State <br /> Reimbursement Board so scheduling was completed <br /> I <br /> 1 <br /> • <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
