(Quik Stop), Compliance & Closure, Inc. (CCI)here by <br /> presents the results of the confirmation soil sampling conducted at Quik Stop Market No. 121, <br /> located at 1196 Louise Avenue in Manteca, San Joaquin County, California(Figure 1). The field <br /> work was conducted in response to the San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department <br /> (County) letter dated July 18, 2006 which indicated the site exceeds the Tier 1 Environmental <br /> Screening Levels (ESL's) for methyl tertiai)� butyl ether(MTBE) in soil with available site data. <br /> In order to obtain site closure, new data was required to confirm that the soil in the vicinity of <br /> monitoring wells RW-I acid MWA had been renlediated and posted no threat to human health <br /> through the ini.g.,ration of soil vapors. <br /> Field Work <br /> On September 19, 2006, CCI used a "Geoprobe" sampling rig to direct push two soil borings at <br /> selected areas near monitoring wells RW-1 and MWA, located in the central portion of the site <br /> (Figure 2). Prior to commencing the field work. CCI obtain a drilling permit f:roni the County to <br /> perform the proposed scope of work. Static groundwater was measured in iVIWA and RSL'-1 at <br /> approximately 16.7 feet in each well. CCI direct push two borings (GP-7 and GP-8)to depths of <br /> approximately 15 feet(capillary fringe). Soil samples were collected at depths of 10 and 15 feet <br /> at each boring location. The soil samples were collected by using a 36-inch long by 2-inch <br /> diameter, closed piston sampling tube fitted with a 3 foot long buterate sampling tube. Upon <br /> j <br />
