Quik Stop No 121 Closure Report <br /> • CCI Project No 12118 <br /> Page 14 <br /> 6 The KVA C-Sparge System operated a total of 9,569 hours until May 13, 2005 at which <br /> time the System was shut-down At that time all A-aquifer wells were reported to be free of <br /> detectable MTBE contamination B-aquifer well, MW-6, was reported to have 1 5 ug/L MTBE <br /> The County requested the System be shut-down to observe whether there would be any rebound <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbons in the groundwater over four quarters On April 18, 2006, after four <br /> additional quarters of groundwater monitoring, the Quik Stop site remained free of detectable <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> Based on all the data gathered to date, the soil and groundwater contamination at Quik Stop <br /> Market No 121 has been remediated to "non-detect" (ND) levels, therefore, there are no soil or <br /> groundwater conditions which could adversely impact water quality, human health or safety by <br /> either direct contact with the soil and groundwater or vapor migration The work performed at <br /> Quik Stop Market No 121 satisfies the following low-risk closure criteria established by the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> 1) The release and ongoing sources, including free product, have been removed or remediated, <br /> 2) The site has been adequately characterized, <br /> 3) The contamination is not migrating, <br /> 4) No water wells, deeper drinking water aquifers, surface water, or other sensitive receptors are <br /> likely to be impacted, <br /> 5) The site poses no significant risk to human health, <br /> 6) The site poses no significant risk to the environment <br /> Based on the findings discussed in this Closure Report, no further environmental work at the site <br /> is warranted, other than the removal of the existing groundwater monitoring and sparge wells <br /> from the site, in accordance with the protocol of San Joaquin County, Environmental Health <br /> Division requirements Quik Stop Market Inc respectfully requests case closure <br />
