� n <br /> • Monitoring Well Installation Report <br /> Quik Stop No 121 <br /> Page 3 <br /> soil samples collected for laboratory analysis, with the exception of 0 005 mg/kg toluene in sample <br /> GP-5-28 at a depth of 28 feet This concentration is at the detection limit of the laboratory <br /> equipment and is the only soil sample reported by the laboratory to contain petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> contamination Only 1 of the 5 groundwater samples was reported to have petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> contamination Boring GP-1 was"direct pushed"through the former fuel tank area on the north side <br /> of the site to determine the vertical extent of soil contamination discovered during the March 1998 <br /> tank removal The groundwater sample from this location was reported to contain 800 ug/l TPHg, <br /> 8 ug/1 benzene and 73 ug/l MTBE, along with detectable concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene and <br /> total xylenes Based on data obtained during the Geoprobe investigation, CCI recomended and the <br /> County agreed that three monitoring wells be installed at the subject site to monitor the groundwater <br /> conditions at the subject site <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The following procedures were undertaken in installing the three monitoring wells at the subject site <br /> 1} Obtained monitoring well permits from San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division, <br /> 2) Cleared all proposed well locations of underground utility lines, through a private line <br /> location service and Underground Service Alert (USA), <br /> 3) Installed three, 2-inch diameter PVC groundwater monitoring wells at the subject site and <br /> surveyed the wells to mean sea level elevation, <br /> 4) Obtained soil and groundwater samples to be analyzed for the presence of total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethlybenzene, and total xylenes <br /> (BTEX) and oxygenates, using EPA Test Method 8260, <br /> 5) Presented the results of the well installation findings in this summary report <br /> Feild Investigation <br /> As previously stated,prior to beginning the field work, permits were obtained from the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division(County) In addition, the proposed <br /> monitoring well locations were "cleared" of utility lines using an underground line service and by <br /> notifying Underground Service Alert(U S A) CCI conducted the field work on April 20, 1999 and <br /> included drilling three exploratory borings, installing groundwater monitoring wells in each of the <br /> • borings, and developing and sampling the wells <br />
