Quik Stop No. 121
Confirmation Sampling
Page 2
Groundwater measurements taken during the confirmation sample event indicate the water table
has risen approximately I foot since the January sample round. The groundwater gradient is
virtually flat, with a slight gradient of 0.001 feet per foot to the northeast, (Figure 2). The flow
direction has changed approximately 90 degrees from the flow direction reported in the January
2000 quarterly report. This change in flow direction is most likely due to the rapid rise of the
water table from the recent winter rains. Since the gradient is virtually flat, any slight variation in
the water level within the three wells will impact the calculated flow direction at the site.
Based on the latest results, Quik Stop proposes to pump groundwater from monitoring well MW
-
3 using a vacuum truck. The purpose would be to remove as much of the MTBE concentrations
roximately 8 hours.
in and around the well as possible. addition to the ping request d Work Plan fof the well would last rfurther delineation of
This proposed activity would be in
the MTBE contamination both on and offsite, which is due to the County no later than April 7,
2000.
CCI would appreciate receiving any comments you may have on the confirmation sample results
and proposed well pumping activity.
