All work was <br /> performed in accordance with California Well Standards Bulletin 74=90. - <br /> On July 2, 1996, Smith Environmental supervised the destruction of site monitoring wells <br /> MW1, MW2 and MW3 by a C57 licensed drilling company using pressure grouting <br /> methodologies. The wells were abandoned by filling the well casing and filter pack with a,neat i <br /> cement grout utilizing a pressure grouting tool., After the grout level.in the well casing had <br /> stabilized, the well casing for each well was drilled out to two feet below ground surface (bgs), <br /> - -- and'well°casing-*agmeots-.and debris were-removed.from"the boring. The boring was then filled ! <br /> with "lamp black" dyed concrete to the groundsurface to restore the site to its original <br /> appearance. <br /> Additionally, attached to this-letter is a.copy of the calculations for the mass'of residual petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon constituents in soil on-site. The calculations for the volume of residual contaminated <br /> soil were included in Smith_Environmental's "Closure Request Report" dated May 6, 1996.. The <br /> volume of contaminated soil was estimated to be 217.81 cubic.yards; and'this volume.was used to <br /> calculate the'mass`of residual:`petroleun'-hydiocarbons in soil.
