On January 7, 1989, the three sets of product Iines were excavated. Approximately 60
cubic yards of soil and backfill were excavated and stockpiled with the 100 cubic yards of soil excavated
from the former tank location. Soil samples were taken from 2 feet below the surface at each fuel island,
and were identified as T-1, T-2, and T-3 with sampling locations shown in Figure 2. The results of
chemical analysis of the soil samples are presented in Table 3. Chemical analysis of soil samples collected
from beneath the dispenser island (T-1,'1=2,and T-3)indicated concentrations of TPH at 15.0,24.0,and
1,510.0 ppm,respectively.
TABLE 3
Chemical Analysis of Soil Samples from
the Product Line Trenches
Concentrations in ni igrams per kilogram/mglkg(ppm)
Organ<tc
Sample Bate Approximate Ethyl-
Lead
Q&90 2WIh {feet) lknmne benzene Toluene &LIenes TT H-' MB-15 (r)pm)
1'»1 0I('y/R9 4 <O.00I 0.080 0.045 0.174 15.01 <0.001 <0.05
T-2 OLV/89 4 10.001 0.060 0.030 <0.238 24.01 <0.001 <0.05
T-3 01107189 4 <1 s6 5.25 2.4 31.8 11510.0c <0.001 <0.05
PL4 0125189 4 x0.001 <0.001 0.015 0.046 <10.0 <0.001 <0.05
PL-5 01/25/89 4 <0.001 <0.001 <0.001 <0.001 <10.0 <0.001 <0.05
PL-6 0125189 4 <0.001 <0.001 0.012 0.029 <10.0 <O.QOI <0.05
PL-7 01125/89 4 <0.001 <0.001 <0.001 <0.001 <10.0 <0.001
PLTB O125189 4 <0001 <0001 <0.001 <0.001 <10.0 <0.001 '<0.05
PIA 01/25/89 4 <0.001 <0.001 <0.001 <0.001 <10.0 <0.001 <0.05
._i
8 notal petroleum hydrocarbons.
"Ethylene Dibromide.
ndflodd`aa gasoline.
E On January 25, 1989,six additional soil samples were take, at 20-foot intervals within the product litre
g: trenches.
