S051 ExQavation- <br /> SITE SAFETY PLAN <br /> On or near January 16, 1,990 Pratt Consulting Company plans to <br /> excavate potexitially contaminated soil from the AKERI CAN TM4SIT <br /> MIX facility at South Mar-Arthur Boulevard Tracy, California. <br /> While excavating we will be using the PHOTOVAC IOS50 portable gas <br /> chromatograph to deternine the extpnd if any of cOnta-nination. This <br /> device will als<) be used to monitor ambient air quality conditions <br /> if necessary at this site during excavation. <br /> At the present we ax-e con--t-tidering this a possible-hazardous site <br /> (depending on soil gas analynis) . Our personnel have been directed <br /> to use the photo.ionization dsv1Qe, to monitor the ambient air <br /> quality conditions in the general vicinity of tba excavation. If <br /> these coedit ions change Erom their current status then the level <br /> or safety will be re-evaluated immediately anct cur personnel are <br /> instructed to use any necessary -,afaty equipment and supplies <br /> needed to work in the condition present. This would include but is <br /> not limited to full or half face respiratorst Syrnex or TyVek <br /> working suits, rubber gloves, and rubber boots. ThAre will be a <br /> minimum of one twenty pound fire oxtinguinhers at the site at all <br /> times. <br /> The excavated soil will be r4tockpiled on-.site, on plastic. we will <br /> cover the soil pile at tivs- corpletion of the excavation.
