San Joaquin County PHS/Elio
651 South Tracy Blvd. - PAR
r^
April 10, 1990
r Page 4
72 hours will be ellowod to elapse between completion of
development and sample collection.
Prior to the collection of ground water samples the depth to
water in each well will be measured and recorded for use in
determining the local ground water gradient. Each well will
then be purged. Normal purging will consist of the removal of
between three to Five casing volumes of water. In the event
of slow recovery, the well will be completely evacuated of one
l casing volume and the sample taken after recovery, Both
purging and sampling will be performed using a Teflon bailer
cleaned between wells with laboratory-grade detergent and
triple rinsed with distilled water.
Ground water samples will be taken from each well, placed in i
appropriate sample bottles, properly labeled, and placed in an
iced cooler for transport to a state certified laboratory. i
Chain-of-custody protocol will be maintained and all ground f
water samples retained for chemical analysis.
 z
IV. Laboratory Analysis and Sampling Intervals: t
All soil and ground water samples will be analyzed for the
following parameters: Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as
gasoline and diesel (modified EPA method 8015) and BTX&E (EPA w
method 602) . All analysis will be carried out by a State of
California certified laboratory.
All wells will be initially sampled as soon as possible afte
installation and.development. Ya sl `
The
sampling schedule will cease, :at that time, if it has been
/determined that levels of contamination are below the State
5/ Action Levels. If, after-this twelve month. period, the levels
of contamination do not drop below the State's Action Levels,
sampling will continue until it can be shown, for two
consecutive quarters, that levels have dropped below .these
&' action levels.
, s
V. Reporting: //
i. A comprehensive reportrwill be prepared after receipt of the
--------- --initial---analysis-results.----This---report--will-present-narrative..-..-.. ?--_._-.-- --
summary plus all well construction details; boring logs,
alytical
development records, groundwater gradient maps, an
rb
 1
