jF `£ tr' htysfSe1 <br /> a <br /> TECH/ART Report: 1/21/9010 PRATT CONSULTING COMPANY Page I <br /> t <br /> REPORT OF ANALYSES OF SAMPLES FROM A SITE INVEST IGATION <br /> AT 651 South MacARTHUR DRIVE IN TRACY,CA <br /> PERFORMED ON JANUARY 16th, 1990 <br /> FOn THE PRATT CONSULT€NG COMPANY <br /> Mr.John Pratt,owner of the Pratt Consulting Company,contracted with TECH/Apr in January,1930 to analyze <br /> samples collected by Mr. Pratt at a site In Tracy California which was suspected of having received <br /> contamination from both gasoline and diesel fuel. <br /> } Arrangements were made by TECw/Apr for: sample collection containers,analyses of the sampl-3 using a <br /> Photovac 10S50 with an Isothermal oven and a high performance capillary column,and field analysis quality <br /> assurance and control activities. The site investigation was performed on 1/18/90. Samples were couriered <br /> from the site by Dr. Schallt or Dr. Kraeger to the location of the Photovac which had been'set-up'In a hotel <br /> f room within 0.5 mile of the site. <br /> i <br /> ACTIVITIES j <br /> Activities performed at the instrument set-;up room near the site Included: <br /> . t <br /> •Instrument checks(clanks), <br /> f Syringe checrs(injecilons nf clean air), <br /> -.Callbratlon runs, <br /> e Sample analyses. i <br /> Duplicate analyses, <br /> •Sample container check runs <br /> QUALITY ASSURANCE ACTIVITIES <br /> Quality assurance activities included the use of pure benzene,toluene, ethyl benzene and m-k}{ene and a <br /> x certified gas mbdure prepared.by Scott Laboratories as calibrants.In addition,the Hamilton gas-tight syringes <br /> were cleaned and checked for cleanliness prior to use, and 40 ml Telton/silicon rubber tots-septa certified <br /> } <br /> precleanod bottles(from I-Chem)or other cleaned and checked sample bottleA were used at all times. The <br /> carrier gas used was 'Ultra-Zero' grade compressed air which Is certified for low hydrocarbon and low <br /> moisture content by Linde-Unlvn Oerbkle. . <br /> f� ri QUALITY CONTROL ACTIVITIES <br /> Instrument blanks were run at tha beginning of each set of analyses. <br />
