�r <br /> Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> Former BLUE STAR GASOLINE STATION <br /> 4040 East Main Street, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr.Khalid Amer,property owner,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has <br /> prepared this report for the property at 4040 East Main Street, Stockton, California(the site). The <br /> location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. Major features on the site and soil probe boring <br /> locations are illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> The work was performed to assess for potential environmental concerns associated with the <br /> operation of a former gasoline service station at the site.The work was performed in accordance with <br /> guidelines of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of <br /> underground storage tanks (UST) sites. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 4 A gasoline station and mini-mart previously occupied the site. Three USTs operated at the eastern <br /> edge of the site for approximately forty years and were removed from the site in March 2002 by <br /> AGE. The UST system also included two dispensers at the northern portion of the site. <br /> 2.L SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> a. <br /> The site is bounded on the north by Main Street and on the east by Oro Avenue. A single structure <br /> occupies the central portion of the site. Residential and/or commercial properties lie north beyond <br /> Main Street and south of the site. <br /> `" 2.2. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC CONDITIONS <br /> The site is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, elongate <br /> northwest tending, asymmetric structural trough. The Great Valley Province has been filled with <br /> thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to recent, creating a nearly flat lying <br /> alluvial plain,which extends from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains <br /> in the north. The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the California <br /> Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively. Rocks composing the basement complex of the <br /> province have not been completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous <br /> origin.
