FOURTH QUARTER 1996
GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
FORMER DIAMOND LUMBER - MANTECA
JANUARY, 1997
1 3.2 Groundwater Conditions
The depths to groundwater measured on December 19, 1996 ranged between 17 01 and 17 58-
feet below ground surface (bgs) The elevations of the groundwater ranged from 14 46 to 16 25-
feet above mean sea level (MSL) The direction of the groundwater flow was calculated using the
BEI wells and SRK wells, separately This was done because the wells are perforated at slightly
Idifferent depths and their respective water levels appear to reflect the hydrologic conditions in
two somewhat different water bearing zones The groundwater direction of flow and gradients
for the two well groups are in the northeasterly direction at a gradient of 0 0029-feet/feet (ft/ft) in
the BEI wells and westerly at a gradient of 0 0017-ft/ft in the SRK wells The two well clusters
continue to show slight differences in groundwater elevations when compared to each other
Incorporating the new Park wells into the groundwater flow calculations, groundwater flow
appears to be in a more northerly direction at a gradient of 0 0041-ft/ft The current groundwater
gradients are presented on Figure 4 and historical groundwater gradients are presented on Figure
1 40
3
