• <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 650 Management Corporation (Client) has retained The Park Corporation (Park) to provide <br /> environmental services at 151 South Main Street in Manteca, California The site and the vanous <br /> well locations are shown on Figures 1 and 2 (Site Location Map and Site Plan) The work <br /> performed and described in this report has been requested by the lead agency, the San Joaquin <br />' County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (County), and was performed in <br /> accordance with the workplan dated May 24, 1994 and the January 13, 1995 supplemental, which <br /> were approved by the County Ms Margaret Lagono from the County was present to observe <br /> the dnlhng and sampling activities descnbed in the following report <br /> 2.0 SITE HISTORY <br /> The site is located in a commercial area of Manteca, California and consists of a large warehouse <br /> and an older building once operated by Diamond Lumber Two underground storage tanks <br /> (UST) were removed from the site in 1985, one 500-gallon gasoline fuel tank and one of <br /> unknown size and usage <br /> No soil samples were collected at the time of UST removal, but an unknown quantity of impacted <br /> soil associated with the product piping was observed and removed Based on an environmental <br /> site assessment of the facility by Blymer Engineers, Inc (BEI), and work completed by Steffen, <br /> Robertson and Kirsten, Inc (SRK), further site investigation has been conducted to provide <br /> plume definition <br /> Adjacent to the west property line is a 25-foot strip of land owned by Union Pacific Railroad and <br /> a larger strip owned by Southern Pacific Railroad (SP) There are still active railroad lines on <br /> portions of the SP property In addition, there are foundations of pnor buildings No <br /> information has been developed regarding the historical uses of these properties <br /> 3.0 SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> Two borings were drilled on April 5, 1996, and completed as groundwater monitonng wells <br /> (MW-7-P and MW-8-P) The wells are located on SP property at the locations shown in Figure <br /> 2 Specific tasks completed by Park during the groundwater monitoring program included the <br /> following <br />' Locate and measure depths to groundwater in all the wells, <br /> • Purge a minimum of three well volumes of groundwater from each of the wells <br />' (BEI-MW1, BEI-MW2, BEI-MW3, SRK-MWl, SRK-MW2, SRK-MW3, <br /> MW-7-P, and MW-8-P) until pH, temperature and electrical conductivity values <br /> were within 10 percent for consecutive measurements, <br /> • Collect groundwater samples from all existing wells, <br /> 1 <br />
