ATC Associates Inc Project No 99975 7501 <br /> REPORT OF CORRECTIVE ACTIONS AND <br /> RECOMMENDATION FOR SITE CLOSURE <br /> 151 South Main Street <br /> Manteca, California <br /> May 25, 2001 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> The purpose of this report, prepared by ATC Associates Inc on behalf of Value Reclamation <br /> Corporation,is to present the most recent groundwater monitoring data,to present data supporting <br /> the successful achievement of the remediation program objectives, and finally, based upon the <br /> information presented herein, to recommend that the site be considered for closure <br /> To address the remediation of soil and groundwater impacted by a leaking underground gasoline <br /> storage tank, in July 1997, On-Site Technologies, Inc prepared a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) <br /> for the site The report was approved by the San Joaquin County Public Health Service's <br /> Environmental Services Division as an Interim Remedial Action Plan pending demonstrated <br /> effectiveness of the measures proposed in the Plan A detailed description of the site and the <br /> background and history of the site are presented in the July 1997 CAP and in the numerous <br /> reports of investigation and groundwater monitoring referenced therein Because the CAP <br /> adequately summarizes the relevant results of all previous site investigations and pre-remediation <br /> groundwater monitoring events, for easy reference, a copy of the CAP is presented in this report <br /> as Appendix A <br /> Although this report may contain some redundant information, it is our intent to provide in this <br /> single document,all of the relevant information(derived from site characterization and remedial <br /> investigations and subsequent groundwater and remediation monitoring)sufficient to support the <br /> conclusions and recommendations presented herein <br /> 2 0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> Included in this report are the results of the three latest groundwater sampling events conducted <br /> on January 21 2000,June 23,2000,and January 23,2001 The results of the later two events are <br /> particularly significant because,as a result of site modifications,active remediation at the site was _ <br /> suspended on February 21, 2000 and has not resumed The June sampling event was conducted <br /> 4 months after the cessation of soil N apor and groundwater extraction at the site, and the January <br /> 2001 event was conducted I 1 months after cessation of active remediation <br /> The sampling and sample handling procedures used for the three sampling events are presented <br /> in Appendix B <br />
