' FIRST QUARTER, 1997
GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
FORMER DIAMOND LUMBER - MANTECA
APRIL, 1997
3.2 Groundwater Conditions
The depths to groundwater measured on March 28, 1997 ranged between 14 23 and 14 71-feet
below ground surface (bgs) Since the October 15, 1991 sampling event, the groundwater levels
' are at histoncal highs, as shown in Table 1 The elevations of the groundwater ranged from
18 71 to 19 12-feet above mean sea level (MSL) The direction of the groundwater flow was
calculated using the BEI wells and SRK wells, separately This was done because the wells are
perforated at slightly different depths and their respective water levels appear to reflect the
hydrologic conditions m two somewhat different water bearing zones
The groundwater directions of flow and gradients for the two well groups are in a northwesterly
direction at a gradient of 0 0013-feet/feet (ft/ft) in the BET wells and a northeasterly direction at a
gradient of 0 0018-ft/ft in the SRK wells The two well clusters continue to show slight
idifferences in groundwater elevations when compared to each other Incorporating the new Park
wells into the groundwater flow calculations, groundwater flow appears to be in a more
northeasterly direction at a gradient of 0 0021-ft/ft The current groundwater gradients are
piesented on Figure 4, and historical groundwater gradients are presented on Figure 5
`i
i
1
•
i ,
