1
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report No 1 November 3, 1997
' QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT NO 1
July- September 1997
' 151 South Main Street
' Manteca, California
' November 3, 1997
' 10 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the procedures and results of groundwater monitoring at 151 South Main
' Street, Manteca, Califon ua (Figure 1) The purpose of this report is to fulfill quarterly
monitoring requirements by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) and to
' establish a groundwater monitoring history for the site
For this reporting period, groundwater from the monitoring wells was sampled and submitted
for laboratory analyses Samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl
ether(MTBE)
' Section 2 0 presents the groundwater sampling procedures used Sectionpresents a summary
' of the specific actions taken during this quarter Section 4 0 presents the water level
measurements and analytical results of the groundwater sampled during this monitoring period
2.0 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING PROCEDURES
The locations of the groundwater monitoring wells are shown on Figure 2 Table 1 summarizes
the construction details for all monitoring wells related to the site investigation
' Groundwater samples were collected on September 10, 1997, following water level
measurements The following protocol was used in obtaining groundwater samples
• Before purging, water levels were measured with an electronic interface tape capable of
measuring the static water level and hydrocarbon product/water interface in one immersion
Purging preceded sampling to replace stagnant water in the well with fresh aquifer water
The wells were purged using either an air diaphragm pump or submersible pump All wells
OST
701-1-2 qml Page 1
1'
