Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board 6375.4.002.01
Yosemite Avenue Properties February 11, 2005
RESPONSE TO CONDITIONAL WORK PLAN APPROVAL Page 3
FOR GROUNDWATER STUDIES
Comment #6: "Consider adding electrical conductivity, boron, chloride (instead of chlorine),
sodium, iron, manganese, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. "
The sampling analysis suite has been expanded to include chloride (instead of chlorine), and total
and dissolved magnesium. Electrical conductivity, boron, sodium, iron, manganese, calcium,
and potassium were included in the original workplan.
Comment#7: "Please provide information on soil sampling preservation methods."
Soil samples will be collected using a California Split Spoon Sampler containing 2 inch-diameter
by 6-inch-long brass tubes. The brass tubes will be sealed using Teflon sheets secured by tight-
fitting plastic caps. The soil samples will be labeled to indicate a unique sample number, time
and date collected, sample location, and sampler's identification. Samples will be preserved in a
chilled cooler during transportation to Excelchem Environmental Laboratories, Inc. (Excelchem) of
Roseville, California (DHS Certificate No. 2119) with a completed chain-of custody document for
analysis.
If you have any questions on any portion of this work plan, please call and we will be glad to
discuss them with you.
Very truly yours,
ENGEO INCORPORATED Reviewed by:
Christopher A.
