Main Street, Manteca, CA.
(Modesto Dry Ice)
Site Code 2333-1
Dear Ms. Lagorio;
As you are aware from previous correspondence, I
represent Claudio Dell'Eva in hi: capacity as executor of the
estate of Angela Casazza, owner of the above referenced property.
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division has recently required Mr. Dell'Eva to submit
a workplan for installation of a groundwater monitoring well
at the above site with a dadline of April 1, 1991.
Mr. Dell'Eva's consulting engineer, William Hunter,
has conducted an extensive investigation and review of files
pertaining to the Manteca Bean and Diamond Lumber projects,
as set forth in his letter of March 21, 1991, enclosed herewith
for your review and has concluded that there is no evidence of
contamination at 260 S. Main. It is Mr. Hunters unqualified
opinion that no further work is required on this site and "the
file should be closed."
Mr. Dell'Eva has already expended a substantial amount
of estate money to comply with County mandated testing. That
testing has proven negative for contamination. Dgspi.te that
fact, the County is now requiring additional unnecessary expenditure
T of estate assets to place a groundwater monitoring well at that
site. Based on Mr. Hunters conclusions, there is no reasonable
basis for requiring any further testing. ---
If,
esting. If, after you have reviewed Mr. Hunters enclosed letter,
