CHRONOLOGY
Chevron Service Station 9-1452
Page 3
02/12/03 Date monitoring well MW-8 was installed onsite.
02/28/03 Date of CPT and Monitoring Well Installation Assessment Report
submitted by SECOR. MTBE was detected in groundwater samples
collected from CPT-1-66', CPT-1-91', CPT-1-116', CPT-2-75', CPT-2-
96', and CPT-2-111' at 4 gg/L, 5 gg/L, 13 µg/L, 2 gg/L, 22 µg/L, and 12
gg/L, respectively; TAME was detected in groundwater samples collected
from CPT-2-96' and CPT-2-111' at 0.9 and 0.5 µg/L, respectively; and
methanol was detected in groundwater collected from CPT-1-116 at 350
gg/L.
06/26/03 Date of Aquifer Test Report and Work Plan for Interim Remedial Measure
submitted by SECOR. The report discussed results from a slug injection
test and a 24-hour constant-discharge pumping test conducted on MW-8.
SECOR proposed extracting groundwater monthly from MW-8 to mitigate
MTBE in groundwater.
11/16/03 The EHD approved groundwater extraction. Monthly batch extraction
began in November 2003 and ended in April 2004.
08/2004 Weekly batch extraction began and ended in May 2005.
09/14/04 Date the EHD directed that a minimum of 8,000 gallons, instead of the
documented 2,000 gallons, of groundwater be extracted each month; a
feasibility study be conducted to evaluate at least two alternative methods
for restoring groundwater to beneficial use; a work plan be.submitted to
investigate the vertical and lateral extent of soil and groundwater
contamination.
11/15/04 Date of Well Search Report submitted by SECOR stating that 46 water
supply wells were identified within a one-mile radius of the site, and 14
wells were identified within a 2,000-foot radius of the site. Of these wells,
one municipal well was located approximately 1,500 feet east of the site,
and two domestic wells were located approximately 1,500 feet north and
1,900 feet northwest of the.site.
11/15/04 SECOR proposed conducting an ozone-sparging pilot test prior to
conducting a feasibility study during a telephone conversation with EHD.
