f S EC OR
Ms. Victoria McCartney
November 24, 2004
Page 4
Monitoring Well Surveying
A California State Licensed Surveyor will survey the newly installed wells. The well casing
will be surveyed to the nearest 0.01 feet in elevation relative to a known benchmark and
located with respect to the California Coordinate System and latitude and longitude in
degrees, minutes and seconds.
TRACER TEST TANK TIGHTNESS TESTING
The scope of work for this tracer test involves the installation of approximately eight tank
probes, eight piping probes, and the sampling and analysis of the soil vapor collected from
the soil vapor probes.
Soil Vapor Probe Installation
An estimated eight vertical tank soil vapor probes and eight piping probes will be installed at
the"site.pTha robes will be constructed of %-inch poly vinyl chloride (PVC) piping. The
depths of the tank probes will be between 1 and 12 feet bgs and the depth of the piping
probes will be between 1.5 and 2 feet bgs. The total number and depth of the probes will
be determined in the field.
Tracer Injection and Sampling Analysis
A unique chemical tracer will be added to each UST. After a period of 1 to 2 weeks, vapor
samples will be collected from the soil vapor probes and analyzed for the presence of each
UST-specific tracer. Detections of the individual tracers in specific probes will be used to
identify a potential leak source.
REPORT
After completion of fieldwork and receipt of. laboratory data, a summary report will be
prepared. The report will present boring logs, soil analytical data, chain-of-custody records,
well construction details, a site map showing the monitoring well locations and probe
locations, and conclusions and recommendations.
SCHEDULE
SECOR is prepared to initiate field work within 2 weeks following approval of this Work Plan
by the County. A report documenting the findings of the investigation will be prepared and
submitted approximately 8 to 10 weeks after the completion of the field work and receipt of
laboratory analytical data.
1:\Chevron\91452\REPORTS\2004\monitoring well work plan 2004 rev_a.doc
