The purpose of
this sampling program is to monitor the concentrations of hydrocarbons in ground water
at the site. Work included measuring depths to water, sampling ground water for
subjective and laboratory analyses of hydrocarbons, and evaluating the groundwater
gradient beneath the site. T1,e locations of the monitoring wells are shown on the
Generalized Site Plan, Plate 2.
Present Ground-Water Sampling
On June 21, 1991, a geologis. from Applied GeoSystems conducted the second quarte;
1991 monitoring event at the sPe following methods summarized in an attachment to this
letter rep^rt. Water levels were measured in the monitoring wells (see Table 1). These
water levels were used to evaluate the ground-water gradient. The groundwater surface
beneath the site was found to be essentially flat, with a slight slope to the southwest of
approximately 1 foot per 1,000 feet.
We collected ground-water samples from each monitoring well and examined the
samples for floating product, sheen, and other subjective evidence of hydrocarbons. No
subjective evidence of hydrocarbons was observed it,any of the_monitoring wells_(see
GUSgdern
86102.5
Tl
