AGE-NC Project No 054256
tPage 3 of 7
3 1 SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT
On 11 and 12 August 2005 a total of six soil robe borings B 1 through Bb were advanced at the
g p ( g )
site utilizing a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit equipped with 1 25-inch
probing rods The borings were advanced in the following locations (Figure 2)
• Boring B 1 was advanced to a total depth of 26 feet bsg, approximately 6 feet east of the
southeast corner of the current UST location,
• Boring B2 was advanced to a total depth of 26 feet bsg, approximately 10 feet south of the
current UST location,
• Boring B3 was advanced to a total depth of 26 feet bsg, approximately 8 feet west of the
' current UST location,
• Boring B4 was advanced to a total depth of 25 feet bsg, approximately 48 feet northwest of
the northern end of the dispenser islands,
• Boring B5 was advanced to a total depth of 26 feet bsg, approximately 20 feet northeast of
the northern end of the dispenser islands, and 1 5„
' . • Boring B6 was advanced to a total depth of 26 feet bsg, approximately 17 feet east of the
dispenser islands
32 SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
1
Samples were collected from all six borings at discreet 5-foot intervals, from 5 feet bsg to total depth
of the borings, using a 1 25-inch Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with four 6-inch brass
sleeves All sampling equipment was washed in an Alconox solution and rinsed twice with water
prior to each sampling run For each soil sample collected, both ends of the second sleeve were
I covered with Teflon sheets, capped, and sealed with tape The samples were then labeled, stored on
lee,and transported under chain of custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories(CTEL),a State
of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory in Paramount,
' California Selected samples were analyzed for
• TPH-g and total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d) in accordance with
1 EPA Method 8015 Modified, and
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and fuel oxygenates MTBE,
DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB),
methanol, and ethanol in accordance with EPA Method 8260B
' Advanced GeoEnronmental,Inc
r
