Laboratory analysis showed TPH as gasoline detected <br /> in all of the native soil samples. MTBE and the other oxygenates were all detected in all <br /> samples also. No soil sample was obtained from the excavated material as it was all pea <br /> gravel. <br /> It appears that petroleum hydrocarbons are present in the soils under the former gas <br /> island.
