Main
Manteca, CA
As stated in a letter to you on July 15, 1991, San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division is the lead
agency providing oversight of the investigation and cleanup of
releases from underground storage tanks that previously existed
at the above site. The remedial alternative approved for this
site is quarterly sampling/monitoring. It has been brought to
our agency's attention through newspaper articles that it is the
intention of WHF Environmental Consultants to extract water from
the existing monitoring wells at the site and dispose of it in
the City of Manteca sewers. Before this remedial action occurs a
new remedial action plan should be submitted to our agency and a
public participation peroid provided.
As discussed in a telephone conversation with you on
February 3, 1992, we are enclosing copies of the pertinent
portions of the "Federal Register" , the State of California
Article 11, "Corrective Action Regulation", our agency's "Public
Participation Plan", and letters from our agency to the
responsible party dated April 1, 1991 and May 17, 1991.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS,
at (209) 468-3449.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
Health Of 'c r
L Z;K
rie A.
